I had a conversation a few days ago, which started off as, “Ok, so it’s June and we are at the half year mark…….” I couldn’t even listen to the rest of the sentence because there was an alarm going off in my head that just kept repeating “2015 is halfway over” (I guess the glass was half empty for me on that particular day). The remainder of that conversation lit a fire under my tushy and I have re-visited my goals for 2015. I consider myself a very goal orientated person, and in all honesty it stems from my procrastination. Without having a goal or a specific measured achievement I would just procrastinate to death with Friends & Sex and The City re-runs.
I notice some of this behavior with brides as well. They are counting down the days to their wedding but the closer they get, the more they focus on what has not yet been accomplished. Although planning a wedding is more definitive than a yearly personal or professional goal, I’d like to treat my goals the same way; sacredly!!
All goals aside for a moment, it’s time for my favorite post of the month, June’s Wedding Inspiration post. Yay! Researching gowns for monthly picks makes me feel like Monty from ‘Say Yes to The Dress’ when he’s ready to ‘Jack Someone Up’.
June’s Wedding Dress Inspiration is from Morilee Bridals. I felt that I was making a clean start half way through the year so a gown with clean lines and classic styling fit my mood perfectly.I love the covered buttons lining the back!!! I can already imagine a photo of the bride being buttoned by her wedding party. The true attention grabber for me on this Morilee gown was the back panel, it gives that small element of surprise wrapped in romance. Morilee touts creating the perfect blend between classic and trendy, just what June’s Wedding Inspiration needed!
In an effort to keep things clean and fresh, I’ve selected a pair of flats for this gown pick! Your dancing feet will thank you later. I love the scalloped detail on these ‘Blue by Betsey Johnson Cake’ flats’.
So now that we are all aware that 2015 is half over, are you a procrastinating planner or have you already hit your goal?
