Signature Drinks for Your Wedding

While the idea of a ‘signature drink’ at a wedding is a somewhat new idea, I have to admit I am a huge fan. Plus it just sounds fancy, doesn’t it?!

So what *exactly* is a signature drink? Basically, it’s a specific cocktail (sometimes two) that will be served at your cocktail hour or wedding reception.

What is the benefit of a signature drink?

If you’re none to thrilled with the idea of an open bar and you’d still like to offer your guests a cocktail, a signature drink is the way to go. This can either be done by passing the drinks to your guests via cater waiter or the drink(s) can be requested at the bar. You can put a cap on the amount of signature drinks you would like to offer your guests or you can opt to offer it freely throughout the night; though I suggest going with the former if you are attempting to budget your bar tab.

Here’s where you can have some fun with it!

Incorporate your color palette into your signature drink! Think vibrantly colored cocktails, colored-sugar rims, striped straws or even popsicle Prosecco!

Don’t forget to give your signature drink a name. If you are going for unique, the name of your drinks should be something that speaks of your couple style or even the location of your wedding. Display the name of your drink along with the contents of your concoction at the bar so that your guests have an idea of what they are ordering.

Chalkboard displays are a great way to do this and your venue may even have one on hand that they can lend. Another benefit of passing a signature drink, you can skip out on offering the champagne toast!
