Two families become one in a whirlwind destination Wedding set in Crete, Greece
Nicole & Conor travel from Connecticut all the way to Southern Crete (where many members of the bride’s family reside) to plan their traditional Greek wedding which was filled to the brim with the love of over 300 family members & friends.
Guests were greeted at the Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony with programs that gave a brief overview of what to expect during Nicole & Conor’s traditional ceremony, as well as paper cones full of rice, to throw at the bride and groom when the moment came after they took their first steps as newlyweds. Their ceremony was held in the Main church of Paleohora, Crete, Greece and included a beautiful ‘crowing’ ceremony in which the bride and groom are made King & Queen of their home!
Once their ‘I do’s’ were said, our bride and groom stepped out onto the cobblestone street to be greeted by a shower of white rose petals thrown by their guests. Nicole & Conor then went off with their wedding photographer Andreas Markakis, to make the most of their destination wedding in Greece by grabbing their bridal portraits by the ruins of Venetian fortresses built in 13th century. Old world tradition collides with a modern-day love story for Nicole & Conor’s happily ever after!
No Greek wedding would be complete without plenty of food, drinks and dancing!
The wedding reception was held at the seaside club Pearl Cavo, overlooking the Libyan Sea with both indoor and outdoor seating for guests to take in the gorgeous views of the coastal town!
