Rockledge Park, Texas Styled Elopement

Our bride and groom celebrated their elopement with a styled shoot inside Rockledge Park!

Carrie and Brian eloped back in 2013, but they didn’t have any photos to share from their day. The self-dubbed ‘Grown Up Runaways’ (how much do you freaking love that?!) make their way around the US in their Air Stream trailer through workamping and small space living, so after they said their ‘I do’s’ they were on the road again!

Carrie & Brian’s wedding day style can be described as rock n’ roll rugged. Hosting their elopement styled shoot inside Rockledge Park, Texas was the perfect location to recreate their wedding day magic. Rock and roll rugged met whimsy when Carrie added in soft romantic details when it came to her bridal gown and floral design. And here’s the part we are totally obsessed with, Carrie also wore a hand calligraphed leather jacket over her wedding gown with ‘Just Eloped’ emblazoned on the back.

Every detail of their elopement inside Rockledge Park pays homage to something so close to Carrie & Brian’s love story, from the coastal location to the attire, and the incorporation of their Harley Davidson bike that was outfitted with even more gorgeous florals! Dying to see all the details yet?!

We have the entire love story and details of their day straight from the bride’s mouth! Scroll down to see what Carrie had to say about her wedding day and knowing that Brian was the one!

Give us all the details! Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day?

Love and adventure was our theme! Contrast played a big role, too. I wanted a soft, flowy dress with a leather jacket to match our style more. Florals draped from the back of the motorcycle to add a rugged glam.

Let’s talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception?

Our decorations were simple, yet, intentional. The coastline is our happy place; water is where we thrive. The Harley has been a staple in our life from slow coastline Sunday drives to runaway impulse adventures. We feel at home, together, taking in the coastline with the wind in our faces.

What were the florals like at your wedding?

The florals were everything! The florals dripped with romance and texture and softened the edges of our whole theme. Succulents were added to represent our southern roots. The rest of the florals were added for texture and pops of color.

What were some of your favorite moments on your wedding day

The dreamiest part of our little wedding day was the intimacy on the water. We were in our own little world surrounded by the waves and wrapped in the wind, together. My customized leather jacket shouting to the world “we eloped” was the perfect touch of hilarity.

Let’s talk fashion, how did you both choose your wedding day look?

I wanted something both wild, rugged and soft. I chose our outfits to be polished and glam for the ceremony. But the Harley and the leather jacket were added for their rugged charm and to add our own personal style.

How did the two of you meet? Tell us everything!

We met in Texas when Brian strolled back into his home town after living the musician life in Austin, Texas.  The moment I saw him I  thought he was a modern day James Dean with dimples. Before we even dated he told my sister he would marry me one day. I swore I’d never marry. Years later we were apart. I showed up one day and asked him to be with me forever. Over 10 years since we first met and I’d do it all over again, every day.

What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?

The celebration, afterward.

Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?

The magic is in the details. And simple is sweeter. It was the most carefree, romantic day of our lives.
