Megan & Omar’s San Francisco Bay Vintage Inspired backyard wedding is full of details that we absolutely adore, including a VW bug wedding day getaway car!

We’ll save the VW bug wedding day getaway car for last because we need to talk about Megan’s wedding day attire! Our beautiful bride wore a short wedding gown, with flapper-inspired wedding day shoes, and a double layer short length veil. That was all before she made her get away with Omar which included a wedding day denim jacket and heart-shaped glasses because she is just that freaking cool! Omar wore a three-piece royal blue wedding day suit topped off with… a bowtie. Because you can’t go fully vintage inspired without donning bowtie right?!

The bride and groom included an Instax camera as part of their wedding day experience, snapping shots all the way from getting ready in the bridal suite right up to their reception, and all pieced together to enjoy their day in Polaroid form.

Megan & Omar had an awesome first look with each other, and it is one that we have never seen done before! Megan stepped out on to the balcony of her bridal suite, while Omar awaited her arrival below before peering up to get a glimpse of his bride to be.

Every detail that you are going to see for Megan & Omar’s wedding day was fully DIY, with the only exception being their catering, which was provided by Pampas Empanadas. So that awesome arch for their ceremony that was crafted out of ladders, drapery, and floral garland? Totally DIY! Oh and the multiple chalkboard signs welcoming their guests to their wedding day and pointing their way to the guests seating, yep those too!

Megan & Omar’s retro VW bug getaway car was chalk colored and fully outfitted with window paint, cans attached to the tailgate with strings, and a roof rack full of florals. After saying I do, Megan and Omar hopped in their VW bug and headed off to Grass Valley near the Oakland Zoo for photos near the eucalyptus trees.
