The Love Shack Brooklyn Whimsical Wedding

Amanda and Duncan were wed at NYC’s marriage bureau, with a brunch reception at The Love Shack in Brooklyn! Their wedding day was whimsical meets esoteric with a dab of DIY, and did we mention that they flew in from Texas for their big day?!

Love comes through in so many different ways, with all of the weddings that we celebrate here at So This Is Love. For Amanda & Duncan, love looked like flying from Texas to NYC for a quick wedding ceremony at the New York City Marriage Bureau. Their ceremony was intimate and the bride and groom were surrounded family only. After they sealed the deal, Amanda and Duncan hopped on the subway to Brooklyn for their wedding reception. Literally, we have the photos of them smooching on the subway on their way into Brooklyn to celebrate their wedding day at The Love Shack!

You are going to fall in love with Amanda’s wedding dress!! Amanda went non-traditional with her choice of wedding gown when she wore a doll collared dress from Alice and Olivia! Our bride showed up to say I do at the New York City Marriage Bureau in a floral printed, retro-inspired navy blue dress! She paired her doll collared wedding dress with a pair of burgundy, block heeled boots, and a dainty hair vine from Noon on The Moon. Her groom Duncan wore a three-piece suit with a single white flower for his boutonniere and a printed floral tie that matched his bride’s dress.

After Amanda & Duncan said I do, they hopped on the subway to head off to their brunch reception at The Love Shack, where they treated their guests to bagels & schmear, fruit & cheese platters, flutes of champagne and topped it all off with wedding cake. We guarantee you that this Brooklyn wedding venue is like nothing you have ever seen before! This spot boasts a wall of eclectic mirrors, touches of bold decor, vintage-inspired furniture, chandeliers, ‘secret’ nooks, and a famed library chair! The books are nested right inside the chair, and you’ll get to see the most amazing shot of Amanda & Duncan by the chair!
