Daniel and Cameron’s wedding at the South Carolina State Museum was impeccably planned, full of personal fun details, and bursting with love at the seams!
There are so many amazing aspects of this wedding that we need to cover, so we are going to jump right in with attire!!
Our stylish grooms were not afraid of sparkles or succulents, oh yeah, you are going to get to feast your eyes on the most gorgeous succulent floral pocket squares you have *ever* seen!
Daniel wore a pink ASOS suit that was customized with sparkling bling, a blinged out bowtie and a customized pair of (also blinged out) loafers. Cameron wore a navy blue tux with satin black lapels and sparkly blue loafers. In lieu of a bow tie, Daniel wore a chunky bejeweled necklace under his lapel. Both grooms wore customized rings designed and created by Tessa Metcalf (a UK jewelry designer) and wedding bands from Tiffany’s!
Let’s talk about the eats!
Do you know the armadillo cake from Steel Magnolias? Oh YES! Daniel & Cameron modeled their wedding day cake after the exact cake in the movie, LOVE! The grooms also treated their guests to a taco & nacho bar from Cantina 76 because it was the location of their first date… awwww! Guests also dined on 4 amazing pizza options as well as gelato and sorbetto, which was a nod to the couples first big trip together to Italy, where they celebrated Daniel’s parents 35th Wedding Anniversary.
It’s time to say I do!
The grooms had their very close friend, Justin, officiate their wedding! Justin came to the wedding as his drag queen persona, Bootsie LeFaris. Bootsie LeFaris also joined the couple for their (dreamy, editorial) wedding party portraits! After teary vows, huge smiles and a kiss to seal their newlywed status, the grooms were off for their (did we mention dreamy & editorial?) bridal party portraits. Their bridal party photos included some totally gorgeous rainbow smoke bomb shots that you do not want to miss!
Tell us a little about how you met, and your proposal story!
Cameron saw me at SC Pride in Columbia, SC but was too shy to approach me that day so he found me on Grindr. He messaged me and said, “I found you!” I teased and jokingly asked ‘what now’, and he offered to take me to dinner. We sat and talked for hours and that was the beginning of everything! I proposed at Walt Disney World via caricature. It was a complete and total shock to him, and with a crowd gathered around our artist drawing she turned around our picture (me on one knee dressed as Prince Eric and him as Hercules) I was on one knee proposing; he said YES after what felt like an eternity haha! – Daniel
Any wedding day advice that you’d like to share with other couples?
Enjoy yourself, it’s your wedding!!! Cameron and I danced the night away with our besties and even got to eat! I always heard that you won’t remember anything, you won’t get to eat, you have to talk to everyone…etc, our wedding was not like that at all!! We mingled, drank and danced the night away with our loved ones.
