Big city love with vintage elements is the name of the game for Emily & John’s Chicago wedding at Salvage One!
The bride and groom make Chicago their playground when it comes to their Spring wedding day in the city. Emily and John get wedding day ready at the SpringHill Suites in River North. Our bride brings on the vintage in her wedding day attire with a soft lacy hair comb to accent her updo, a velvety white shrug, and a dainty floral statement necklace; but brings in that modern touch with her ‘something blue‘ wedding shoes. After the bride and groom get decked out, it’s time to hit the streets of Chicago with their wedding photographer to grab some quintessential shots beside their bridal party. Our favorite part? A sweet wedding day kiss was stolen by the Ashland Pink/Green train line, with the hustle and bustle of the city whizzing behind them, its as if time stood still for Emily & John!!!
For their I dos, the bride and groom stood amongst friends and family at the historic Second Presbyterian Church of Chicago, amongst the vast stained glass windows, and promised to love one another forever. Big smiles and walking hand in hand, the next stop for our newlyweds was Salvage One for cocktail hour and reception time! During cocktail hour, our newlyweds snuck off with their Chicago wedding photographer, Emma Mullins Photography, to take intimate portraits in the upstairs space of the antique store. Gorgeous natural light and vintage furniture & decor – where can we sign up?!!
Emily and John met years ago while working at Chicago’s Field Museum together. Once they fell in love they were inseparable, and their wedding day was an all-around celebration! They both got ready at Springhill Suites in River North and from there we headed separately to Salvage One for their first look and bridal party photos. Before the ceremony, we traveled as a group to the Ashland Pink/Green line train station for some CTA photos with the train and Chicago skyline! It was a really unique and very “Chicago” part of their wedding day, and I loved incorporating that into their photos. – Emma Mullins Photography
